These cryopreserved hepatocytes in suspension are characterized for high viability and general phase I and phase II metabolism activity in short term suspension metabolic pathways. The extensive quality control procedures on each batch is done and can be presented on request.

<pstyle="font-weight: 400;">These transporter qualified suspension hepatocytes are ideally suitable for short-term (< 4hrs) in vitro drug clearance assays. The suspension qualified hepatocytes are not suitable for assays requiring adherent cells.

They can be maintained for few days to a week in culture depending upon the quality of the cell preparation, and culture conditions. For your long-term experiments, you may be required to replenish your cultures with fresh isolations.

Suspension hepatocytes are cultured without attachments to a surface, while plateable hepatocytes are optimized to attach and grow on cell culture vessels. Suspension hepatocytes are typically used in different applications, such as drug metabolism studies and liver-specific functional assays that do not require adherence. However, suspension hepatocytes cannot be maintained in culture for long term, whereas plateable hepatocytes can.

If you keep your cells in a storage area separate from the lab, in which preparation and testing is performed, use liquid nitrogen instead of dry ice to ensure that cells do not undergo temperature fluctuations while transporting over significant time/distance.
