Adipose tissue-derived stromal vascular fraction is a mixture heterogeneous population of progenitors, obtained from fat tissue of belly fat. The tissue is obtained typically through a process called liposuction. This fraction is a population of cells, including adipocytes, preadipocytes, endothelial cells, pericytes, fibroblasts, pericytes, and mesenchymal stem cells. These cells have been studied for their potential applications in cosmetics-related in vitro studies, as therapeutic modules in the field of regenerative medicines, as well as tissue engineering. The cells are being researched as essential tools in drug toxicity screening, and wound healing, along with angiogenic potential.

Yes, these cells are isolated from Adipose Tissue using a cocktail of enzymes.

The cumulative population doublings are calculated using the seeding density and harvesting density from each type of culture vessel. The cell doubling time is calculated using the formula Doubling Time = Duration * log (2)/ log [Final concentration/Initial Concentration]

Since these are mesenchymal stem cells isolated from adipose tissue, they can be passaged up to number 10 in the culture without losing their characteristics. However, with multiple freeze-thaw processes, cells can lose their morphology and stemness.

It varies from lot to lot depending on donor demographics like age, sex, health condition, family history, size of the tissue, etc. Typically, around 1 T25 flask can give you about 500000 cells or more.

We have standardized our protocol for each primary cell type using different media and growth factor combinations for rapid growth potential. Although, we suggest cells to be grown in our own media; however, media from any reputed manufacturer like Gibco can be used depending upon internal standardized protocol.

Each tissue collection is done with informed consent from a healthy donor. The donor is tested for infectious markers like HIV-1, HCV, HBsAg, HBcAg, etc. Once the cells are isolated, a batch is tested for gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. The cultures are also assessed for mycoplasma. The cells are characterized by specific mesenchymal stem cell markers like CD 105, CD 90.
