Aortic smooth muscle cells constitute a major part of arteries and are responsible for maintain vascular integrity against the pulses from the heart. These cells are used to study various diseases such as arteriolosclerosis and arterial disease as well as in vascular wound healing, tissue remodeling and drug screening applications.
