Description
These cells derived from chorionic villi of human term placentae play important immunomodulatory functions. Similar to MSCs derived from other sources they are able to proliferate into multiple cell types but in addition to their regenrative potential they are also able to control important cellular functions of target cells. Due to this, they are able reduce T cell proliferation making them promising for cell based therapies. Moreover, these cells are able to maintain their potency under oxidative stress which usually occurs due to high glucose levels caused by diabetes making them an effective tool to treat several disease.
