Natural Killer Cells commonly referred to as NK Cells are a type of innate lymphocyte which aid the immune system by killing virally infected cells and controlling signs of tumours. They are isolated form Peripheral Blood and currently research is ongoing to see their role in fighting diseases such as cancer. Researchers are studying ways to inhibit these cells to reduce transplant rejection and failure during IVF.
